McCain: More of the Same on Deregulation
McCain: No, I think the deregulation was probably helpful to the growth of our economy.
McCain has been an advocate of deregulation most of his career, but Thursday he endorsed the biggest bailout in history - a plan for the government to take on the bad debts of financial institutions.
(60 Minutes)
McCain still thinks deregulation is a good idea, even while endorsing a Wall Street bailout that would add a trillion dollars to our national debt. So conservatives everywhere, are you really voting for candidate that endorses both bailouts and no regulation? The country is nearly bankrupt with debt, there will come a day when no one will buy our debt bonds just like right now no one will buy bonds or shares of the big Wall Street firms!

McCain will be even worse than Bush
His top financial adviser, aside from Phil Gramm, got fired from HP. For being fired, she received a 40 million dollar severance package, including cash payments and stock benefits.
Meanwhile, HP laid off 20,000 workers. That is supply side economics to a T. Consolidate the wealth at the top, and lay off thousands to create more temporary profit. She got 40 million for being fired for goodness sake.
So, tell me please, please, how paying someone 40 million for incompetence helps the economy or the workers? Funny how McCain has railed on this kind of greed, but these people run his campaign. Supply side at its best. I wonder how much Fiorna "re-invested" in creating more jobs? enough to cancel out the 20,000 people laid off? I doubt it. Mostly she invested in world markets to hide profits and pay less taxes.
Disgraceful.
Thanks,
