Enemies Of The Party
OK, to review – since at least 2001, when Ron Carey was Party Treasurer, the Minnesota GOP has had financial paperwork “problems”. In 2001, these problems resulted in the Federal Election Commission fining the GOP $16,000. Hey – is that a good use of Joe Sixpack’s $20 dollar donation, or what?
These problems didn’t magically disappear, despite republiCon Ron’s oratorical mastery. No, apparently, under Carey’s stewardship, they grew. And grew to the point that the GOP’s staff couldn’t overlook these problems, anymore. Here’s where the infamous 15 February 2007 Tostenson Memo comes into play.
Dwight Tostenson, according to Dwight Tostenson, worked for the MN GOP for around a decade. And this memo alleges a whole buncha shoddy paperwork – all under the stewardship of Ron “The Buck Stops THERE!!!” Carey.
You can read the memo here
Now, lately, Ron Carey has been demanding that Al Franken step up and take responsibility. So, did republiCon Ron step up and accept responsibility for his party’s shoddy paperwork?
Of COURSE not!!!
So, who did republiCon Ron blame, for wanting to talk about these problems, since he wouldn’t take responsibility? Well, one place the buck stopped, apparently, is fellow GOPer Joe Repya!
According to a rightwing blog, here’s what republiCon Ron sent to GOP State Central Committee Members on July 25th, 2007:
Yeah, “right”.
Joe Repya, an enemy of the party??!?
Colonel Joe wants a little accountability within his party - the GOP, and republiCon Ron calls that an “attack.”
It’s reasons like this (and, more to come!) that Ron Carey is my nominee for the May 2008 Hypocrite Of The Month award.
