John Kline's energy tour, you are not welcome to attend
Next Monday Rep. John Kline (R-MN-02) is conducting an energy tour, I've been told. Don't worry, you're not invited. To avoid running into any constituents, only a select few are allowed to attend. You're not among the select few. He will stop at a park-n-ride, a wind turbine, a nuclear facility (Prairie Island?), an incinerator and an oil refinery (Koch refinery on Hwy 52?).
"I have a specific itinerary, not for public consumption, which is why Iʼm not issuing a press release," said Troy Young, Communications Director for Kline.
Because Kline is so unpopular, his policies so vilified by his own constituents, he fears meeting any of them. If he were to run into someone (80% of Minnesotans) who think the country is on the wrong path, it would be uncomfortable for Kline. Also, because of his and his staff's tendency to be rude to anyone who disagrees with them, harsh words might be exchanged.
So Kline will be shuttled around to events not open to the public and will probably later attempt to claim them as constituent outreach. Well ... John Kline's constitutents anyway ... the nuclear industry, the waste management industry and the oil industry ... the only constituents he represents. Oh ... I'm sorry ... I forgot the 20% who think everything is going great in the US right now ... he represents them.
As for the rest of you constituents of his ... well ... if you see John Kline somewhere in the district, don't try and talk with him, you've not been cleared as someone among the 20%.
Just don't do it.
